Welcome to the Llanishen & Caerphilly Hockey Club Home Page.
Llanishen & Caerphilly Hockey Club is one of the oldest hockey clubs in South Wales having evolved through a number of mergers over time. The original club Llandaff was formed in the 1920's and played their home games in view of Llandaff cathedral. Llanishen hockey club was established in the 1950's and these two clubs merged in the early 1980's to become Llanishen and Llandaff Hockey Club. Subsequently, Caerphilly hockey club formed in the 1990's and a merger of these clubs formed Llanishen and Caerphilly hockey club in 2000.
Today the club operates from two sites; Hawthorn School near Treforest and Bedwas School near Caerphilly. The club fields three mens teams all playing league hockey within the N4 South West of England and South Wales Hockey League. The mens first team play in the very competitive Severn Division competing against teams from both South Wales and North Gloucestershire. The other 2 teams play in the South Wales Divisions.
The club utilises the excellent facilities at Fagins Ale and Chop House in Taffs Well as a club house, one of the only pubs in south wales to offer gravity fed real ales. http://www.faginsalehouse.co.uk/
